Nice campground. All gravel. Did not like our first site so they moved us to a better on. Site are a little short. Most I saw you could not leave you towed vehicle connected without sticking out into the road.

We really liked this park. They upgraded our space at our request and we loved it.

Not our first time here. Good place for an overnight rest. Could use more shade.

The Heart of the Fun The center of our campground is a hub of laughter and activity. Our playground is a hit with kids and the young-at-heart, providing hours of disconnected fun. Nearby, our pickleball court offers a chance for some friendly family competition. When the Wyoming sun gets warm, there is no better place to be than our seasonal outdoor pool , a sparkling oasis perfect for a midday dip or a relaxing lounge with a good book. | Paw-Positive Travel We know that for many of our guests, a family vacation isn't complete without their four-legged members. That's why we've invested in our KampK9 dog park . This fenced-in, off-leash area allows your dogs to stretch their legs and play in a safe environment, making the Douglas KOA one of the most pet-friendly destinations in the region. Community and Connection Beyond the physical amenities, we strive to build a sense of community. From our community fire pits to our outdoor pavilion, we provide spaces where travelers can swap stories, share tips on the best local fishing spots, and make new friends from all corners of the globe. | The New Douglas KOA Experience – Modern Upgrades We are constantly evolving to better serve our guests. Our newly remodeled store is stocked with everything you need. From essential RV and camping supplies to an expanded selection of snacks and cold drinks, we've curated our inventory to be a one-stop shop. We also take great pride in our gift section, featuring local Wyoming-made products and, of course, a wide array of Jackalope-themed souvenirs to commemorate your stay. The New Concession Building & Bar Opening at the end of July, our brand-new concessions building is a game-changer. This isn't your average snack bar; it is a full facility featuring a professional kitchen and a sleek bar area. Guests can enjoy delicious, hot meals and refreshing beverages without leaving the campground. With ample seating and a welcoming atmosphere, it's the perfect place to unwind. Plus, this space is available for event rentals, making the Douglas KOA a premier choice for family reunions, rallies, and celebrations. | Discovering Douglas – The Home of the Jackalope The town of Douglas is a treasure trove of Western lore. Just five minutes from the campground, you can visit Jackalope Square to see the iconic statue of the world's most famous "fearsome critter." Legend has it that the Jackalope, a cross between a jackrabbit and an antelope, was first spotted here in the 1930s. Don't forget to stop by the Chamber of Commerce to pick up your official Jackalope Hunting License! But the town is more than just folklore. Douglas is a vibrant community with a rich agricultural and industrial heart. Downtown Douglas offers charming boutiques, local eateries, and a sense of hospitality that is hard to find in the modern world. It is a place where people still wave as you pass by and where the history of the West is a living, breathing part of daily life. | Frontier History and Cultural Treasures For history buffs, the area surrounding the Douglas KOA is a goldmine. Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum Located on the Wyoming State Fairgrounds, this museum is one of the most comprehensive collections of pioneer history in the state. From authentic sheep wagons to Plains Indian artifacts, the museum tells the story of the men and women who braved the Oregon and Mormon Trails to build a life in the West. Douglas Railroad Interpretive Center The railroad was the lifeblood of Wyoming's expansion, and this center honors that legacy. Walk through a meticulously restored steam locomotive and several historic rail cars, gaining a firsthand look at how the "Iron Horse" transformed the American frontier. Fort Fetterman State Historic Site Just a short drive north, Fort Fetterman stands as a sentinel over the North Platte River. Once a major military outpost during the Indian Wars, the site now offers an interpretive center and restored buildings that provide a somber and fascinating look into the military history of the region. | From Red Rocks to River Banks Wyoming's landscape is its greatest calling card, and Douglas is situated near some of its most unique features. Ayres Natural Bridge Perhaps the "hidden gem" of Converse County, Ayres Natural Bridge is one of only three natural bridges in the United States with a stream flowing beneath it. Tucked away in a lush canyon, it offers a cool, shaded retreat for picnicking, light hiking, and photography. It is a geological marvel that has been a favorite stop for travelers since the days of the covered wagon. The North Platte River The river is the pulse of our valley. For anglers, the North Platte offers world-class trout fishing. For those who prefer a slower pace, a scenic float down the river provides a unique perspective on the local wildlife, including bald eagles, deer, and antelope. Laramie Peak and Medicine Bow National Forest For the more ambitious adventurer, the towering silhouette of Laramie Peak beckons. As the highest point in the northern Laramie Range, it offers challenging hikes and breathtaking panoramic views that stretch for hundreds of miles. The surrounding Medicine Bow National Forest is a playground for mountain bikers, hunters, and hikers alike. | Events and the Wyoming State Fair Douglas is the proud home of the Wyoming State Fair . Every August, the town transforms into a bustling celebration of agriculture, rodeo, and Western culture. Guests staying at the Douglas KOA during this time are in for a treat, as they are just minutes away from the best rodeos, concerts, and livestock shows in the state.Throughout the year, Douglas also hosts various festivals, car shows, and ranching events that offer a true taste of Wyoming life.
