“Beautiful camp ground awful road it doesn’t look like it’s bad but it’s horrible bounced all over the place probably better for a day trip or tent so you are not beating up your trailer. ”

Jubilee Lake Campground sits at a high elevation in the spruce-fir country of the Umatilla National Forest and is the forest's largest and most frequently used campground. The lake itself is ringed by trees and provides a shady, cooler spot for summer camping and swimming. The site layout includes 53 total campsites: 47 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and 6 tent-only sites. Facilities are straightforward and well-distributed for a busy campground potable water is available throughout, trash service is provided, and there are four vault toilets plus six flush toilets. A day-use area and a boat ramp serve visitors who come for a few hours rather than an overnight stay. The campground is reached by turning north off Highway 204 onto Forest Service Road 64 and following that road for about 12 miles; because that last stretch is a forest service road, check current road conditions before travel and consult the Forest Service or recreation reservation websites for up-to-date information on fees, reservation policies, and seasonal openings. Recreation at Jubilee Lake centers on water and easy trails: the 2.8-mile Jubilee Lake National Recreation Trail makes a pleasant loop around the lake, and boating is allowed with non-motorized craft or boats using only electric trolling motors. Fishing and crawfishing are common draws, and the shallow, tree-lined shoreline is suitable for casual swimming and wildlife viewing alike. Beyond the campground, the surrounding Umatilla National Forest offers a mix of timbered slopes, grassland benches, basalt outcroppings and elevations ranging widely across the Blue Mountains; summer days here are generally warm and dry with cool evenings, while spring and fall are milder and winters bring snow. If you need supplies or gas, the small community of Tollgate is roughly 11 12 miles to the southwest and has a store and restaurant, and access points for the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness (via the Timothy Springs Trailhead) sit under 8 miles to the northeast.
