“Did it find a water source but did not spend long looking. Real convenient camp site for wave, buck skin gulch, wire pass, toadstools, paria canyon, and numerous arches. The location makes this a desired camp site.”
“Spotty Verizon signal. Beautiful campground. The electronic pay station is an excellent idea. ”
“Beautiful place! Although campsites are close to each other, it was nearly empty, so very quiet. Easy to pay the camping fee at kiosk.”

White House Campground sits about 43 miles east of Kanab, Utah, at the end of Monument Road 751, roughly two miles south of Highway 89 and the Paria Contact Station. The site occupies a broad valley between the Paria River and white-grey sandstone buttes, and its compact footprint reflects its role as a trailhead and staging area for the Paria Canyon Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. There are 12 campsites in total: 7 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and 5 walk-in tent sites with tent pads. The campground is open year-round and operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis sites cannot be reserved in advance and the fee is $12 per site, per night. Amenities are basic but practical: vault toilets, metal fire rings, picnic tables, tent pads, and a sand/gravel access road. There are no group sites. Drinking water and trash disposal are not at the campground itself but are available at the Paria Contact Station at the north end of the access road. Check-in and payment are handled on arrival using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan & Pay feature: claim your spot by placing your gear in the site and scanning the unique QR code with your phone to pay. You don't need cash or to wait in line, and the app supports offline scanning so your payment will process once you regain cell service. Recreation options center on sightseeing, photography, day hikes and long backpacking trips into the Paria Canyon Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness; the campground is commonly used as a launch point for those trips. Day-use permits can be obtained through Recreation.gov, while overnight permits for Paria Canyon must be arranged in advance through the BLM permit system. The campground's location also makes it a convenient base for exploring nearby public lands and parks Zion and Bryce Canyon, Grand Staircase Escalante and Vermilion Cliffs National Monuments, and surrounding national forests though those destinations are accessed separately from the Paria trail network.
