“Awesome campground! Sites are very wooded and situated where you feel like you are the only one in the campground. The host was absolutely the best camp host I’ve encountered. Definitely will be back!”
“Made reservations and turns out I picked a spot by another camper who ran his loud generator during my napping hours. Ugh!”
“very nice campground. clean and beautiful”

Swan Lake Campground sits at the north end of the Swan Valley in northwest Montana, just outside the small village of Swan Lake and roughly 16 miles east of Bigfork along the State Route 209/83 corridor. The site is arranged in two distinct loops Ponderosa Loop, where campsites are larger and more open, and Birch Loop, where sites sit under denser shade and closer together plus a reservable group site that holds up to 100 people. TOTAL CAMPSITES: 40, with a SITE TYPE BREAKDOWN: 39 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites and 1 Tent Sites. Sites include paved parking areas, picnic tables and fire rings; drinking water and vault toilets are on site, but there is no dump station (a fill station is available just past the pay kiosk as you enter). Reservations can be made by phone at 1-877-444-6777; individual sites are $20 per camper unit per night (the first motorized vehicle is included, additional vehicles are $5/day), and group site rates scale from $200 to $350 per night depending on group size. Guests must check in with the campground host by 11 a.m. the day after arrival or risk forfeiture of fees, stay limits are 16 consecutive days, and cancellations should be made at least four days prior for same-day cancellations or questions call facility staff at (406) 210-8199 (ask for Leona for day-of arrival changes); no-shows are not eligible for refunds. The campground fronts Swan Lake and provides direct access to a boat ramp and a small beach where both power and non-motorized boating are allowed; kayaks, paddleboards and canoes are available to rent on site, and firewood is sold at the campground. Anglers will find several trout species, Kokanee salmon and Northern Pike in the lake, while the surrounding conifer forests and the jagged Swan Range peaks offer quick access to hiking, wildlife viewing and mountain scenery. Bike lanes weave through the campground, and the broader Flathead National Forest supports a wide range of outdoor pursuits from horseback riding and hunting to winter sports and overnight stays in backcountry cabins and fire lookouts. Glacier National Park lies within about an hour's drive, and the Swan River National Wildlife Refuge with its bird observation area is roughly a mile from the campground, making Swan Lake a convenient base for both lake-focused recreation and longer day trips into the region.
