Hurdland South Sever Lake is a tract of land containing 158 acres with the Lake itself being 15.4 acres. The area provides diverse habitat for fish and wildlife and offers the public outdoor recreational opportunities including swimming, fishing, disc golf, volleyball and camping. Knox County is located in rural NE Missouri where most people make a living either directly or indirectly as a result of Agricultural enterprises. The Lakes were gifted to the County by Henry Edwin Sever who was a wealthy publisher that grew up in Knox County. The Lakes are maintained by The Knox County Commission.
