Northern Nights Campground Our Higgins Lake Michigan Northern Nights Campground is located about a mile east of Higgins Lake, the 6th most beautiful lake in the world, and about 12 miles northeast of Houghton Lake— Michigan's largest inland lake! Some of the best outdoor activities are offered in this area. Relax and unwind while boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, golfing, jet skiing, swimming, birding, paddle boarding, ORV...and so much more! Northern Nights Campground is clean and well-maintained, including seasonal and non-seasonal (short-stay) sites. We are open year around and open for the “summer season” from the first weekend in May through the first weekend in October.
