Hillsborough River State Park is a Florida State Parks campground in Thonotosassa. It lists 40 RV or RV/tent sites for rigs up to 50 ft (official limit). Florida State Parks lists water at each site and electric at most; dump station.
Attention
Seasonal flooding occurs in the campground during the Florida rainy season (April through October). Parts of the campground and campsites may flood due to heavy rains. Please call the park for campground updates at 813-688-9500.
Facility Important Information
The park gates close at sunset. If you plan to arrive late please, contact the park prior to 5 p.m. on the day of your arrival.
Check in time is 3 p.m. Check out time is 1 p.m.
Quiet time begins at 11 p.m. and must be observed by all campers.

Pets are not allowed in any state park cabins or cabin areas.
Service animals are welcome in all areas of the park where visitors are normally allowed.
No one younger than 18 may camp overnight unless accompanied by a responsible adult, who will remain onsite for the period rented.

Welcome to Hillsborough River State Park. Just minutes from downtown Tampa, this diverse park offers a refuge from city life with seven miles of nature trails and wonderful wildlife viewing. Come visit a breathtaking oasis of natural and historical significance. Stroll along the river rapids, enjoy camping, explore historic structures, share a picnic or view scenic landscapes. Hillsborough River State Park provides many opportunities for outdoor recreation. From fishing in the Hillsborough River to hiking or biking on the trails or picnicking under pavilions built in the 1930s, there is something for everyone here. Besides enjoying a living history lesson, visitors can view Class II river rapids, which are rare in Florida, and canoe or kayak along the scenic Hillsborough River. Camping is another popular activity at Hillsborough River State Park, just a short distance from the bustling city of Tampa.
